Oils FAQ

Oils FAQ

What are your different oils?

Restore - Moisture, this blend replaces moisture lost through daily wear and tear.  It is a light "dry oil" which is easily absorbed into the scalp and  hair cuticle.

Repair - Hair loss, this blend is specifically infused with selected essential oils to target excessive hair loss.  This blend stimulates blood flow, which in turn nurtures the hair root, strengthening it and minimising hair loss.

Rebalance - Dry & Itchy, this blend combines a number of essentials oils that calm and soothe the scalp and help to reduce irritation.

What are the different types of oils?

Our oils are blends of carrier oils infused with essential oils.  Each blend is specific to the condition being treated.  Our primary carrier oil is Grapeseed, used for its ability to be easily absorbed and its light non greasy texture.  A full list of our ingredients can be found on the corresponding oils.

Do your oils contain nuts?

None of our oil blends contain nut oils.  However it is advised that those who are allergic to nuts test a small sample of the oil before full use of the product.  We always endeavour to be nut, paraben, silicone, formaldehyde, sulphates and dye free.

What hair types are the oils suitable for?

Our oils focus on nourishing, repairing and growing hair as well as soothing the scalp.  This is not limited to any hair type or origin. Our oils can be used on Natural or chemically treated hair, the defining factor will be the quantity used to achieve your desired result.

How often should I apply the oil?

Our oils are light enough to be used on a daily basis.  Frequency of use really does depend on the user and how "thirsty" the hair is.  We always follow the adage that less more frequently is better, therefore a few drops 2-3 times per week is advised.

How much oil should I use?

This depends on how you are using the oil.

For daily moisture, 1-2 drops rubbed on the hands and dispersed through the hair is adequate.  Ideally this should be done at night and then the hair covered to allow the oils to absorb.

If the oil is being used as a pre treatment then 10-15 drops should be applied directly to the scalp, massaged and then covered with a shower cap and left for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.  Then follow with shampoo and conditioner as normal.

5-10 drops can also be added to conditioners to add extra moisture.  Again this should be covered and left on for a minimum of 30 minutes, then rinsed thoroughly.

Are your oils only meant for hair?

Our oil blends are primarily meant for hair but they can equally be used on the body.  They are great at targeting specific areas of dryness such as elbows, knees, hands and feet.  Again a little oil goes a long way so use sparingly.

Are your oils safe during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding?

Whilst some oils are safer than others to use during pregnancy, we recommend that you seek advice from a medical expert or a nationally qualified Aromatherapist before using.

Are your oils vegan?

Yes! All our oils are 100% plant derived.
